Hundred and fifty learners from Lethola High School in Taung will on Thursday receive sanitary towels from North West MEC for Social Development Fenny Gaolaolwe.
Gaolaolwe has since the beginning of January undertook a ‘Back to School’ drive to donate sanitary towels to young girls from needy families.
Through her Back to School Programme, Gaolaolwe has targeted 4 000 female learners in needy schools across the four districts – a move that would restore the dignity of needy learners who without the necessary support, are at risk of absenting themselves from school.
During the back to school drive tomorrow, Greater Taung local municipality Mayor, municipal councilors and Kgosi Letlhogile will accompany Gaolaolwe to Lethola high school at 9h00 in the morning. Gaolaolwe is also expected to handover new furniture to two early childhood development centres at Matsheng (in Taung) and Dithakwaneng (near Vryburg) on Thursday.
